Latest Google data has shown the number of visits to overseas e-commerce sites by Australians hunting for bargains before Christmas has soared as Aussies take advantage of the strong Australian dollar. In the first three weeks of October Google data shows searches for international shopping sites increased by 60% on the same period last year! Google’s head of retail and consumer goods Ross McDonald also found that people have begun searching for Christmas gifts earlier based on previous years data and here’s Google’s example, an identical chiffon dress could be bought from the UK for $40 less than the Australian equivalent.
